Beekeeping
If you are really keen then:

Join a local Beekeeping club & the British Beekeepers’ Association.
•  Get a good beginners Beekeeping book.
•  Try handling bees at your club to gain confidence.
•  Be in contact with bees for a whole season through to see what is involved.
Thinking of keeping bees?
Like all hobbies there are good and bad points but because you are dealing with ‘livestock’ it is vital that you think carefully about ‘what you are letting yourself in for’.
There are some basic questions:
•  Do I have a suitable site for keeping bees?
•  What equipment do I need?
•  What sort of hive should I buy?
•  Where can I get bees from?
•  How will I react to stings?
•  How much time will it take?
•  Where can I get help?
There are many other questions and so keeping bees is NOT to be undertaken lightly!  Remember a hive will contain over 50,000 bees and they may swarm.  You may get some honey but you will also need to feed them.

•  Do NOT just get some bees!  Like driving a car there is a lot of skill involved!
